In September 2015 our Company was appointed one of Jaguar Espresso Systems IBERItal Authorised dealers. We are privileged to part of this group that ensures our existing and future customers can purchase IBERItal equipment from an approved Company.
The owner, Martyn Herriott, is a fully trained Barista who works with many of the top coffee & tea trainers in the
UK, which enables him to bring professional and positive insights to his customers' businesses. He also is an accredited
assessor for the Beverage Standards Association's accreditation process.
Martyn has been involved in the food and beverages industry since 1974, when he left school and went to catering college in
Corby and obtained the City & Guilds 706-1&2 catering qualifications.
During his college years he worked as a Commis Chef at the Tudor Gate Hotel in Finedon and his first full-time job was as an Assistant Trainee Manager at the Roundabout Hotel, Crawley. From there he worked at a number of hotels, before finding his home for a few years with Catering by County working at various locations in London.
In the early 80's he joined Bateman Catering (later to become part of the Compass Group) as a relief Manager covering west London and the Home Counties. Developing his skills in management his last job with the Company was at Sarah Lee in Slough.
In 1986 Martyn joined Cadbury Typhoo Schweppes Vending (CTSV), where he looked after vending companies in the South of the UK who purchased a range of Cadbury hot chocolate, whitener and Typhoo tea products from the Company.
After leaving CTSV he joined The Nairobi Coffee & Tea Co. as Sales & Marketing Manager. During his 12 years at the Company he developed a range of branded coffee & tea products under the NC&T label for catering & retail. Over the twelve years he established a team of sales people who increased the coffee & tea business in coffee service, catering and retail which enabled the business to be a major force in the out of home beverages market.
In 2002 Martyn went to work for AM Foods and his role was to develop their range of Caprimo® vending ingredients into the UK vending market. In late 2005, the Company was purchased by Barry Callebaut, and the Van Houten® range of ingredients for vending, coffee service and catering joined the formidable range of Caprimo® ingredients.
In late 2008 Martyn left Barry Callebaut to set up his own business based in Thatcham, selling hot beverage equipment, coffee,
tea and services to coffee shops, pubs, restaurants and offices in the Thames Valley.
As well as running CBS, Martyn is the Beverage Standards Association Head of Centre for the City & Guilds Barista Level 2 VRQ Courses, which runs alongside the Associations Accreditation process for out of home businesses.
He is proud that CBS are members’ of the Beverage Standards Association and the Federation of Small Businesses.
